Objectives

1. To bring local contemporary artists in touch with relevant projects concerning local community issues.

2. To expand public knowledge of contemporary art practise by artists and crafts people throughout Powys within a context of the British Art Scene: Encouraging the support of the Welsh Arts and the need for local support in visiting and buying local products.

3. To actively and practically encourage the interactions between artist and public, through original workshops in the community, at various locations, not limited to a 4 walled classroom, but out in the landscape relating Powys Landscapes to Powys Poeple and their lives and issues today.

4. To encourage positive life choices, development, training, skill building, depth of confidence by example and access to a wide variety of people working within the art and creative sector, working for themselves and the community. So that after connections to the programme, benefitters will go forward to be open minded and more encouraged by future inclusions of art and creative industries in their life and for their family.

5. Powys suffers from a lack of mix between the generations: therefore no-one benefits from mixing outside their comforrt zone and learning new skills and pieces of wisdom from eachother. Society is polarized: So Dreamscapers will actively encourage workshops and artist led projects between the older population: over 60s and the youth scene: under 30s across Powys.

Aims

1. To run workshops led by professional artists excited by projects inspired by local issues and lanscapes in Powys.

2. To inspire and create a positive hub and safe haven around the website and events we run: to encourage the public into creating better relations with the aspirations of the creative industries and the benefits these can bring to any community, encouraging cohesion, understanding, cultural heritage and a better economy potential for tourism, local products and a higher standard of leisure activity.

3. Evolve and Encourage an audience for the contemporary arts in Powys for all people: designed especially for a Powys Public, time-poor, economy-poor are especially taken into consideration.

4. Use the stunning Powys Landscape whereever and whenever possible to best effect during workshops and projects to encourage a better relationship with the outdoors and sustainability of our environment.

5. To build skills through teaching and a series of workshops that introduce, clay, cera, mics, painting, design and photography in a friendly and exciting way: so that feelings of exclusive, lack of confidence and fear are left at the door. Groups will be encourage to work together and start from scratch to build ideas and friendships to make life lines and foundations to better our comuunities through these projects.
